The 2014 MO State Fair in Sedalia, MO is almost here! The fun begins August 7th and will run through August 17th! Attendees can enjoy carnival rides, food, concerts, and more! You can even camp on the grounds. Some of the entertainment includes MercyMe, Scotty McCreery, and Florida Georgia Line, just to name a few! The West Central Neighborhood Alliance makes it their goal every year to celebrate and remember the role that Springfield played in the naming of the historic highway, Route 66, on April 30, 1926. This iconic road stretches from Chicago to Los Angeles and traces of the “Mother Road” can still be found along Kearney Street, Glenstone Avenue, College and St. Louis Street. Many will be gathering on August 9th to celebrate our rich history at the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival on Park Central Square.

Adults aren’t the only ones who can compete in a triathlon; sign them up for the Kid’athlon at Meador Park in Springfield, MO! Participants will run, bike, and swim against kids in their age and gender bracket. You must register your children ages 5-12 by August 1st.
